FOR CAREER SEEKERS
The construction industry in Canada is experiencing a generational boom. Residential construction continues apace, while industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) construction is booming, a trend that is expected to continue for at least the next decade with massive government-supported investments in housing and public infrastructure. For these reasons, qualified employees are in very short supply for both administrative and project management roles, as well as the construction trades.
For Indigenous peoples, the opportunity is unprecedented as more and more government-funded projects require construction companies to commit to a minimum amount of Indigenous participation on the projects, including investing in training, and employment. As a result, Indigenous peoples are in very high demand to fill positions in both Project Management and Skilled Trades roles. Both Project Management and Skilled Trades roles offer excellent financial remuneration and benefits, including health care and pensions.
